Dan Smoot is Chief Executive Officer of Maxar Intelligence, a role he has held since his appointment in November 2023.
He is leading the company’s push to bring the geospatial industry into a new age of intelligence. For over three decades, he has helped scale some of the world’s most innovative software and IT companies and worked closely with the defense and intelligence communities to integrate cutting-edge technologies into national security architectures. Dan became CEO in November 2023. Earlier in his career, Dan served as Senior Vice President of Global Customer Operations at VMWare and held a variety of senior sales, operations and finance roles over 13 years at Cisco.

Susanne Hake joined Maxar in October 2023 as the General Manager of Maxar Intelligence’s U.S. Government business.

Before that, he was the Director of Space Engineering at Pacific Defense Strategies, where he led the development of innovative RF payloads for national security and space domain awareness missions.
Earlier in his career, he spent more than 15 years at Raytheon, including serving as Chief Systems Engineer for the company’s missile warning and defense systems business, as well as leading Raytheon’s Space System Engineering team. In addition to core finance responsibilities, he led functions during his tenure such as the company’s IT, manufacturing, procurement and strategy teams to support the company’s transformation from being an on-premise commercial software business to offering modern, cloud-native security products and services.
Prior to his tenure at Forcepoint, Matt held numerous finance and transformation roles over a 15-year career at Raytheon, helping grow the company’s business internationally and driving operational efficiencies. For six years, he held multiple roles in Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems business, including serving as CFO of the company’s Global Integrated Sensors team.

She is a current member, and former Chair, of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, Inc.
Laurie has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Southern California and her J.D. from the University of Denver.
